Baccarat

Baccarat is definitely one of the oldest card games that have ever been played. It is reputed to have been stared in the early 15th century by an Italian Gambler by the name of Felix Falguirein. The game that was played then was called Baccara, which is the Italian world for nothing or zero.

Since that time, much has changed and today the modern version of Baccara, which is now known as Baccarat, has taken over the online casino halls and land based casinos alike, as it holds the reputation of the being the game for the rich and famous.

Baccarat is an easy game. The idea behind this game is to hold a hand that equals the amount of nine. Cards ranging from one to nine at taken at face value, but ten, Jack, Queen and King have absolutely no value at all and hence are not counted.

Placing your bet on the table indicates that you are ready to begin the game. Two cards are then dealt to the player and the dealer/bank/house face up. The cards are added. If the player has eg a five and a four (irrespective of what suit) that would equal nine and if the banker/dealer has anything less than that you will automatically be the winner. However if the player or dealer holds a six and a nine, the two are added together and the number on the right is taken. This would mean that this hand would be worth five.

In the event of two very low cards being dealt eg a two and a ace (one) then the player will receive a “hit” (an extra card) to boost the players numbers.

This game is played only by the dealer and an area on the felt table marked “the Player” To take part in this game, you place a bet whether the Player or the Dealer will win.

There are no decisions to be made on this game. All you have to do is place your money on the Dealer, the Player or if you think they might tie.
